Additional information

Frederick Christian ruled Brandenburg-Bayreuth for less than five years before dying in 1769, making his coinage issues a compressed series with limited production windows. The 1763 start date coincides with the end of the Seven Years' War, when the margraviate — like most German territories — faced serious monetary disruption from wartime currency debasement. Billon issues of this type were a practical response to chronic silver shortages that plagued small German states throughout the 1760s.
