| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Archbishop Frederick Charles Joseph of Erthal, depicted in ecclesiastical vestments with a lace jabot and powdered wig with side curls, rendered in a refined late Baroque style. The portrait occupies the majority of the obverse field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the rim, reading FRID·CAR·IOS·A·EP·ET EL·MOG·EP·W·, abbreviating the archbishop's titles as Archbishop and Elector of Mainz and Bishop of Worms. The mintmaster's initials F.S. appear in the lower exergue beneath the bust. |
