| Reverse description | A phoenix displayed with wings spread wide rises from a burning pyre of flames and logs at the center of the field, facing left with its head turned in profile. The bird is rendered in fine detail with clearly delineated feathers across both wings and body. The circular legend EX FLAMMIS ORIOR, meaning 'I rise from the flames,' arches around the upper periphery, referencing the mythological rebirth symbolism of the phoenix. Below the pyre, the mintmaster's initials S·NR· appear in a cartouche at the base of the design. The coin's milled border with fine denticles frames the entire composition. |
