| Obverse description | Within a central beaded circle, the two Chinese characters 五角 (Five Jiao) occupy the field in bold relief. Surrounding the inner circle, a continuous legend in Manchu script fills the entire outer zone, reading clockwise and conveying the full imperial title, the regnal year of Guangxu, the issuing authority of the Fengtian Arsenal, and the denomination. The coin is bordered by a toothed milled rim. The design is austere and purely typographic, with no figurative elements on this face. |

The dragon is depicted with characteristic Qing dynastic iconography, including bifurcated tail, four clawed feet, open jaws, and cloud scrolls surrounding the body. A Chinese legend arranged around the periphery reads clockwise and records the issuing authority and regnal date. The entire design is enclosed within a toothed milled rim. |
