Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Sun Yat-sen occupying the central field, rendered in moderate relief. The legend encircling the upper portion of the coin reads 中華民國四十三年 (Republic of China Year 43) in Chinese characters, while the lower field bears the date inscription 五月二十日 (May 20th). The entire design is framed by a decorative rope or bead border near the rim.
