| Obverse description | At the upper center, the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine appears above the Cyrillic inscription УКРАЇНА, with the denomination 5 ГРИВЕНЬ positioned to the right of the arms. The central device presents a stylized symbolic wheel of life rendered as the international radiation hazard trefoil sign, its lobes entwined with foliate ornament, encircled by fauna representative of the Chornobyl exclusion zone — including black storks, Przewalski's horses, lynx, bison, elk, and brown bear — all executed against a mirror-finish field.
