| Obverse description | The brass centre features a rich commemorative composition: at upper left, the small coat of arms of Ukraine appears above the mint mark of the NBU Banknote Printing and Minting Works, while the issue year 2017 is displayed centrally alongside a vertical ornamental motif. Regional symbols of the Poltava Oblast are depicted in the field, including the Transfiguration Church of Velyki Sorochyntsi, the spa building of Myrhorod, a lyre with inkpot and quill symbolising literary heritage, and a stylised KrAZ Hurricane truck representing the Kremenchuk automotive works. The lower field is adorned with ears of wheat, a pumpkin, grapes, an apple, and an Opishnia pottery flask, emblematic of the region's agricultural and craft traditions. The copper-nickel ring bears two concentric Cyrillic legends: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ above and П'ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ below. |
