Obverse descriptionTwo-tone single-sided printing in black on a red or light red background. Frame composed of stylized leaves. Value in letters in the center. Value `5` repeated three times in the frame. The place (Paramaribo) and the date are printed in black in the center. Coat of arms of Suriname at the bottom composed of two Indians surrounding a medallion containing a sailboat. Below in a band, the national motto of the country in Latin: Justitia Pietas Fides (Justice, Piety, Fidelity). A combination of signatures in black with the Director-Secretary (or just Director) and the Director-President.
Reverse descriptionBrown, pink and beige gradient background consisting of wavy lines converging towards the center. Value `5` in the center and banknote number repeated three times. Text of the law in an arc above the value.
