Reverse description The large numeral '5' dominates the upper portion of the field, rendered in an ornate Art Nouveau style with stylized foliate flourishes and curling acanthus-like leaves extending from either side of the digit. Below, the denomination legend GROSZY is inscribed in bold capital letters integrated into the decorative foliate design, with the central 'S' formed by a continuous curving stroke. The overall composition is elegantly symmetrical, filling the entire field to the raised rim.

Additional information

Trial strikes of this denomination were produced in 1929 as Poland's monetary authorities evaluated coinage specifications following the 1924 złoty reform, which had stabilized a currency devastated by postwar hyperinflation. The ParM#P109a designation places this among a documented series of pattern and trial pieces from the Warsaw Mint as it refined production standards for circulation coinage.

Few examples are known to have survived outside institutional collections.
