Reverse description Central device features the imperial coat of arms of Haiti surmounted by a crown, comprising a quartered shield supported by two figures and flanked by elaborate mantling or drapery, with additional regalia including axes or fasces at the sides. The legend EMPIRE D'HAITI arcs across the upper field, while the denomination 5 appears to the lower left and G to the lower right of the shield, flanking the arms symmetrically. The date 1854 is inscribed in the lower exergual area between two small ornamental stops, with the mint initial P also present. A fine toothed border frames the entire reverse design.
