Reverse description Central device depicts the Haitian coat of arms: a royal palm tree surmounted by a Phrygian cap, flanked by symmetrically arranged trophies of cannons, cannonballs, flags, and arms, all resting on a grassy mound. A ribbon scroll beneath the arms bears the motto L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE. The denomination numeral 5 appears in the lower field, with fineness mark 1000 at lower left and the International Commemorative Society mark IC at lower right. Below the numeral, GOURDES is inscribed, followed by the date year at the base. The peripheral legend LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE arcs along the upper border, and a beaded border frames the entire composition.
