| Obverse description | A five-pointed red star divides the year 1924 at upper centre, flanked by the denomination «5 РУБЛЕЙ» repeated on both sides. The large central text «БОН» appears in bold Cyrillic lettering, with the word «ЗОЛОТОМ» (gold) printed to each side. Below, the full institutional title «Народного Комиссариата торговли и промышленности» is set in a plain sans-serif typeface, followed by a serial number and manuscript signature lines for the Narkom Torgovli and Glavny Bukhgalter.
