Obverse description Central motif is a Cedar of Lebanon tree in full spread, rendered in fine detail with a broad canopy and layered branches, occupying the centre of the field. The circular legend reads in Arabic above and in French below, encircling the tree along the rim. Two varieties exist distinguished by the position of the Monnaie de Paris privy marks flanking the lower field: KM#5.1 bears a torch and cornucopia both to the left, while KM#5.2 bears a cornucopia to the left and a torch to the right.
