| Obverse description | Central field features a sinuous Korean imperial dragon rendered in high relief, depicted amid stylized clouds and flames in the traditional East Asian manner. The dragon is encircled by an inner beaded border, outside of which the surrounding legend is arranged in four quadrants. Chinese characters appear at the upper left and lower left reading 朝鮮 (Joseon/Korea), with the reign-year inscription 開國五百三年 distributed around the upper portion of the field. The Hangul denomination 오푼 appears to the right, and the Latin denomination legend • 5 FUN • is inscribed along the lower arc between two raised dots. The entire design is contained within an outer toothed border. |

| Reverse description | Central field bears the large Chinese characters 五分 (Five Fun/Pun) arranged vertically, denoting the denomination. These characters are enclosed within a wreath composed of stylized foliage tied at the base with a ribbon bow. A five-petaled plum blossom, the floral emblem of the Joseon dynasty, surmounts the wreath at the apex. Small floral ornaments are also visible at the lateral junctions of the wreath. The design is framed by an outer toothed border consistent with the obverse. |
