| Obverse description | Bimetallic coin with a copper-nickel inner disc set within a nordic gold outer ring. The denomination '5 Fr.' is boldly inscribed in the centre of the silver-toned field, with the date '1999' arranged along the lower arc of the inner disc. The circular legend 'CONFOEDERATIO HELVETICA' runs along the upper portion of the inner disc. The Swiss mint mark and the engraver's name 'GASPARD DELACHAUX' appear in small lettering in the lower field. The nordic gold ring is decorated with an array of finely rendered miniature fauna in relief, including birds, reptiles, and other animals, distributed around the full circumference. |
