Additional information

A Congolese franc-denominated piece bearing Dutch royalty has no organic connection to the Democratic Republic of Congo — this is a licensed fantasy issue, one of dozens produced in the late 1990s by private minting interests contracting with the Banque Centrale du Congo purely to sell to collectors. Maxima Zorreguieta and Catharina-Amalia had no commemorative significance to Congo in 1999; Maxima would not even marry into the Dutch royal family until 2002.
