Obverse description Laureate bust of Marianne facing left, her hair dressed in elegant curled locks adorned with an olive branch wreath, rendered in high relief in the classical Republican tradition by engraver André Lavrillier. The circumferential legend REPVBLIQVE FRANÇAISE runs around the periphery, interrupted by a dentilated border. The engraver's signature G. LAVRILLIER appears in small capitals along the lower exergue beneath the truncation. The portrait conveys a refined neoclassical aesthetic consistent with mid-twentieth-century French mint artistry.
