Obverse description The obverse features the national coat of arms of Rwanda centrally placed in the field, depicting a shield charged with crossed tools and an anchor, surmounted by a dove with spread wings, and flanked by two national flags draped symmetrically to either side. A decorative scroll with foliate ornament appears at the base of the arms. The denomination numeral '5' is prominently displayed above the arms in the upper central field. The legend 'CINQ · FRANCS' arcs along the upper periphery, while 'REPUBLIQUE RWANDAISE' and 'LIBERTE · COOPERATION · PROGRES' appear on the shield and its surround respectively.
