Additional information

Rwanda's 1977 coinage program produced several pattern strikes as the Banque Nationale evaluated denomination specifications before committing to full production runs. KM#E5 exists in a handful of confirmed specimens — patterns of this type were typically distributed to government officials, foreign mint representatives, and occasionally retained by the striking facility itself, meaning provenance chains tend to be short and traceable.

No bronze 5 Francs entered circulation that year.
