| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Napoleon Bonaparte facing right, rendered in high relief in a Neoclassical style, with short curly hair and a strong, idealized profile. The legend reads N BONAPARTE PREM CONSUL in incuse letters arranged around the periphery, divided on either side of the portrait. The engraver's signature H AUGUSTE appears in small characters at the base of the truncation. A fine beaded border frames the entire design. The portrait conveys an austere republican dignity befitting Bonaparte's role as First Consul. |
