Reverse description The Belgian coat of arms, a crowned lion rampant on a shield, is centrally positioned and flanked on either side by the denomination expressed as 5 F. The date 1847 is split across the lower field, with the first two digits (18) appearing to the left and the last two (47) to the right of the shield. The national motto UNION FAIT LA FORCE arches around the upper periphery within a beaded border, completing the patriotic design.
