| Obverse description | The obverse reproduces the design of the historic franc au col plissé of Henri III, dated 1577 in the exergue. A right-facing laureate and draped bust of Henri III occupies the central field, rendered in Renaissance style with ruffled collar and flowing hair tied with a ribbon. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the circumferential legend reading HENRICVS III D G FRANCO ET POL REX around the periphery. The overall design faithfully evokes the 16th-century original struck under the Valois monarchy. |
