Obverse description Central intaglio vignette of an African man in traditional dress and head wrap, set against a foliate underprint of tropical plants. A large circular guilloche panel occupies the left side, flanked by a diamond-pattern border. The date and two facsimile signatures of Le Président and Le Directeur Général appear to the right, with the denomination CINQ FRANCS printed in large letters along the lower margin.

Reverse description Central vignette of a seated African man in profile operating a traditional ground loom, rendered in fine intaglio engraving against a light multicolour underprint. A large circular guilloche panel is positioned to the right. The denomination numeral 5 appears at lower left and lower right, and a legal warning notice is printed in a framed panel at the bottom centre.
