Obverse description The Dominican Republic national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a Bible, a cross, and trophy of arms, supported by a laurel branch to the left and a palm branch to the right, with a ribbon below inscribed DIOS PATRIA LIBERTAD. The shield is surrounded by an ornamental wreath. The arc legend REPUBLICA DOMINICANA runs along the upper periphery, flanked by stars, while the lower legend GRAM·25·LEI·900 states the coin's weight and fineness. The mint mark A appears in the lower exergue area. The entire design is bordered by a toothed (dentilated) rim.
