Obverse description At centre, a naturalistic relief of a maize cob (Zea mays) with its husks and leaves, depicted diagonally to the left, overlapping the circular FAO emblem placed to the right. The FAO logo features the organisation's stylised grain-and-globe device with the letters F, A, and O arranged within. The circumferential legend MAGYAR NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG (Hungarian People's Republic) runs along the upper and lower rim in raised Latin characters, engraved by Ferenc Szabó.
