| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned coat of arms of the Báthori family — a shield bearing diagonal bands — supported on either side by two armoured angel-like figures (supporters) rendered in high relief. A royal crown surmounts the shield. The entire composition is encircled by a beaded inner border, with the Latin legend distributed around the outer rim reading CHR BATH DE SOM VAIVODA TRANSILVA ET SIC COMES Z, identifying Christophorus Báthori de Somlyo as Voivode of Transylvania and Count of the Székelys. |
