| Obverse description | Central field depicts a detailed aerial plan view of the star-shaped bastioned fortifications of Coevorden, rendered in fine incuse lines showing the multiple concentric defensive ramparts and ditches characteristic of late 16th-century Dutch military engineering. The date range '1605' appears to the left and '1610' to the right along the upper inner border, commemorating the construction period of the fortress.
