Additional information

Bahrain's transition from the dinar coinage of the Isa and Hamad eras involved quiet but deliberate shifts in alloy and planchet sourcing, and the brass composition of this type was later replaced by a steel-core issue — KM#30.2 — making the non-magnetic designation the essential distinction between two coins that are otherwise visually identical. The window between 2005 and 2007 is short, and examples that entered circulation in the Gulf's humid coastal environment often show early spotting from the brass.
