Obverse description Left-facing bust of a young woman wearing a traditional Hungarian folk headdress, her hair swept back in a braided style beneath the ornate cap. The effigy is rendered in fine low relief with careful attention to the costume detail at the neckline. The circular legend MAGYAR · NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG · (Hungarian People's Republic) runs around the upper periphery, while the date flanked by two dots appears in the lower field below the bust.

Reverse description Large numeral '5' dominates the central field, with the denomination legend FILLÉR inscribed below in uppercase letters. The mint mark BP. appears above the numeral near the upper rim. The entire central device is encircled by a continuous decorative wreath of stylized foliate and floral ornaments rendered in an Art Nouveau-influenced style, framing the value on all sides.
