| Obverse description | At centre, a yin-yang symbol (taijitu) is encircled by four Chinese ideograms arranged at the cardinal points. A further outer ring of Chinese characters forms the full inscriptional legend, reading from top to bottom and right to left around the periphery. The design is executed in a clean, mechanical milled style typical of late Qing provincial coinage. The field is flat with no additional ornamentation beyond the inscriptional borders. |

| Obverse lettering | 造省林吉 丑辛 光 寶元 緒 釐六分三平庫 (Translation: Made in Kirin Province Year 43 Guangxu (Emperor) / Yuanbao (Original currency) Worth 3.6 Candareens (weight)) |
| Reverse description | At centre, a sinuous five-clawed dragon in low relief is depicted in profile, facing the viewer with a flaming pearl at its centre. The English legend KIRIN PROVINCE arcs above along the upper periphery, while the denomination 3.6 CANDAREENS appears along the lower periphery. Manchu script characters are positioned in the left and right fields flanking the dragon. The overall composition follows the standard late Qing provincial dragon reverse type. |
