| Obverse description | Central field features four Chinese ideograms arranged top to bottom and read right to left, flanked by Manchu script characters at centre. The entire central device is encircled by an outer ring of Chinese ideograms denoting the issuing province, reign title, and denomination in candareens. The inscription identifies the coin as a product of Hunan Province, struck during the Guangxu reign period, with a stated weight of 3.6 candareens.
