Obverse description Printed in red on white paper, the obverse presents a vignette of the Qingdao pier stretching across a coastal landscape with mountains in the background, rendered in fine letterpress line work. The bank title 行分島青行銀央中 (Central Bank of China Tsingtao Branch) is inscribed across the top, with the denomination 分伍 (Five Fen) set within a decorative floral cartouche at the right. A serial number panel appears at upper left and upper right, flanking the central vignette within a fine-line border frame.

(Translation: Central Bank of China Qingdao Branch Silver Yuan Note Five Fen)
Reverse description The reverse, printed in red, is dominated by an elaborate guilloche rosette composition with three interlocking circular medallions. The large numeral "5" is centrally placed within the principal medallion, flanked by smaller "5" numerals in the lateral rosettes. The legend "THE CENTRAL BANK OF CHINA" arches across the top, "FIVE CENTS" appears on a banner across the centre, and "TSINGTAO BRANCH" is inscribed in a panel below, with the date "1949" at the base.
