Reverse description Central device features a stylized ancient Chinese spade money (布幣, bù bì) depicted in raised relief, with a broad rectangular body, flared shoulders, and a hollow handle socket rendered in the archaic tradition. A single Chinese character appears to the left of the spade and another to the right, denoting the denomination of five fen. The overall design is rendered in the bold, simplified style consistent with cast brass provincial emergency coinage of the late Republican period.
