Obverse description At the center of the field, within a rectangular frame, appears Le Corbusier's Modulor — the anthropometric scale of proportions devised by the French architect — alongside the double helix of the DNA structure at its right. Flanking the rectangle on both sides are schematic representations of modern technology rendered in a stylized linear style. The date '2003' and the 'RI' monogram (standing for Repubblica Italiana) appear to the right of the central motif. The engraver's name 'MAURI' is inscribed below the Modulor figure.
