Obverse description The obverse of this nonagonal silver coin displays a central roundel bearing the large numeral '5' in relief, surrounded by a nine-pointed star design whose segments contain the heraldic shields of the nine Austrian federal states. The shields are rendered in fine detail within alternating triangular and curved fields of the star pattern. A plain inner border separates this central design from the outer legend. The circular inscription reads 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' across the upper arc, with '•EURO•' positioned along the lower arc. The overall design was engraved by Thomas Pesendorfer.
