| Obverse description | The central field displays the coat of arms of Cyprus — a shield bearing a white dove in flight above an olive branch and the date 1960 — flanked on either side by decorative olive wreaths with branches crossing at the base. The arms and wreaths are rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. A circular legend in Latin and Greek runs along the upper rim, reading CYPRUS • ΚΥΠΡΟΣ • KIBRIS, while the lower arc carries the commemorative inscription Η ΕΝΤΑΞΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΥΠΡΟΥ ΣΤΗΝ ΟΝΕ 2008, denoting Cyprus's accession to the Economic and Monetary Union. |
