Obverse description The copper-nickel centre depicts a group of fishing sinkers (plummets) suspended from lines converging at the top of the field, evoking the traditional fishing heritage of the Satakunta region. The sinkers are rendered in fine relief, their spherical weights and metal shanks clearly articulated against a smooth field. The bilingual country name legend 'SUOMI' appears to the left and 'FINLAND' to the right within the aluminium bronze outer ring, incuse-struck in an angular sans-serif typeface. The overall composition references the region's close association with water and fishing culture.
