| Reverse description | The reverse presents a decorative arrangement of traditional Apulian culinary specialities: a loaf of Altamura bread, orecchiette pasta, an olive branch, and a glass of red wine occupy the central field. Surrounding decorative borders are rendered in fretwork motifs inspired by Apulian Romanesque carving, specifically drawn from the throne of Sant'Elia in the Basilica of San Nicola in Bari. The arched legend SAPORI D'ITALIA appears above the central device, with the Rome Mint mark R to the right. The date 2022 and denomination 5 EURO are inscribed in the exergue; selected design elements are enhanced with applied colour. |
