Obverse description The obverse features a bold, modernist rendition of the French Republican monogram 'RF' rendered in large geometric letterforms with hatched and striped textures occupying the upper-centre field. Below the monogram, the denomination '5 EURO' is inscribed in a stylised typeface. Surrounding the central design, the names of all thirteen metropolitan regions of France are inscribed in a radiating arrangement around the field, each accompanied by a small silhouette map of the respective region set against a background of concentric circular guilloche patterns. The mint mark of the Monnaie de Paris appears in the upper-right field.

Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed composition evoking the Grand Est region of France. To the left, a bold facing portrait of Clovis I, the Frankish king, is depicted wearing a jewelled crown adorned with a fleur-de-lis, with flowing hair and beard rendered in high relief; bunches of grapes appear in the upper-left field behind his effigy. To the right, the soaring Gothic façade and tower of Strasbourg Cathedral is rendered in fine architectural detail, with a white stork — the emblematic bird of Alsace — depicted standing at the base of the tower with wings spread. The legend 'CLOVIS' appears to the left of the portrait, 'GRAND EST' is inscribed diagonally across the upper-centre field, and the date '2026' is placed in the lower exergue.
