| Obverse description | Against a dark coloured field, six relief busts of endangered Greek fauna are arranged in a circular composition around a central device: clockwise from upper left, a Mediterranean monk seal, a brown bear, a raptor (eagle), a fish, a red deer stag with antlers, and a bird of prey. At the centre, the Greek national coat of arms — a white cross on a blue shield within an olive wreath — is depicted in relief, surrounded by the circular Greek legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ.
