Italy's Carabinieri TPC — Tutela Patrimonio Culturale — was established in 1969, making it the world's first dedicated cultural property protection police unit. Operating across Italy and in coordination with Interpol, it maintains the largest database of stolen art and antiquities globally, with over 6 million catalogued objects. The 2019 issue marks the unit's fiftieth anniversary.
