Obverse description The Greek national coat of arms — a white cross on a blue shield encircled by an olive wreath — is prominently displayed in the upper central field. Superimposed across the full face of the coin is a bold relief design of Campanula saxatilis flowering stems, their bell-shaped blooms and foliage rendered in fine detail and extending across the entire field. The engraver's monogram appears in the lower central area of the design. The legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ runs along the lower left arc, while the denomination 5 ΕΥΡΩ is inscribed in the lower right field.
