Chancenay is a commune in Haute-Marne with a population that has never exceeded a few hundred — making this one of the more obscure municipal emergency currency issues from the 1990s French néo-bon movement, in which small towns issued local scrip partly as civic novelty and partly to stimulate trade at festivals and fêtes.
