Reverse description The reverse follows the common reverse design for the 1, 2, and 5 euro cent denominations, designed by Luc Luycx. A stylised globe is depicted in the left-centre of the inner field, rendered to show Europe in geographic relation to Africa and Asia, emphasising Europe's position on the world stage. The face value numeral 5 appears prominently to the right of the globe, with the legend EURO CENT completing the denomination inscription below. The designer's initials LL appear discretely in the field. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union.
