Obverse description The national coat of arms of Cape Verde is depicted to the right of centre, featuring a shield bearing a triangle above three horizontal wavy lines, encircled by the legend REPÚBLICA DE CABO VERDE, and flanked by two laurel branches tied at the base. Ten five-pointed stars are arranged in an arc around the outer edge of the arms.
