The Banco Nacional Ultramarino functioned as the colonial note-issuing authority across Portugal's overseas territories, and this wartime series was produced by Bradbury Wilkinson in London — a notable logistical achievement given that Atlantic shipping lanes were actively contested during much of the 1943–1945 production window.
