Obverse description At center, a circular depiction of the Pan-European Union flag rendered in relief, featuring a cross motif against a dotted field, surrounded by a ring of twelve five-pointed stars arranged in a circle. The portrait is bold and classically styled, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The legend 'NAPOLEON BONAPARTE' curves along the upper periphery, while the birth and death years '1769 - 1821' are inscribed in the lower exergual area. Two small decorative marks flank the lower field on either side of the bust truncation.
