| Obverse description | The heraldic shield of Bergen, depicting a castellated fortress with Gothic-arched windows above stylized waves, occupies the central field. The shield is rendered in fine relief with considerable architectural detail, evoking the medieval Hanseatic heritage of the city. A circular legend surrounds the central device, reading the country name in three languages separated by raised dots. The date span '1070-1995' appears in the lower portion of the inner field, while the commemorative inscription '925 YEARS BERGEN BRYGGE' runs along the lower arc of the legend band. |
