Reverse description Seven lines of Latin devotional verse occupy the central field, framed by sixteen heraldic shields arranged in a border around the periphery, representing the coats of arms of the city councillors. The civic arms of Regensburg — a silver diagonal bar on a red field — appear prominently at the top of the border. At the base of the composition, a cartouche contains a depiction of an open book. The overall design reflects the Baroque commemorative medallic tradition of the early seventeenth century, combining civic heraldry with religious verse in a formal, symmetrical arrangement.
