| Reverse description | Central composition features the crowned arms of Frankfurt — the Imperial Eagle displayed — surmounted by a royal crown, flanked by two crossed implements (a quill pen and a sword) issuing from billowing clouds, symbolising counsel and industry. Above, the all-seeing Eye of Providence radiates divine light from within a glory of clouds and sunbeams. The design is encircled by a laurel wreath, with the legends INDUSTRIA ET and CONSILIO divided on either side within the wreath. The entire motif is enclosed by a milled border, the overall design executed in the elaborate Baroque manner characteristic of Frankfurt civic coinage. |
