| Obverse description | Facing busts of Elector Maximilian II Emanuel of Bavaria and Maria Antonia of Austria, confronted in profile, with rays of divine light emanating from above between their heads. Maximilian II Emanuel appears at left with flowing curled wig and armored shoulder, while Maria Antonia at right is richly draped and adorned. A circular Latin legend surrounds the paired portraits, the composition framed within a raised border. The overall style is characteristic of late 17th-century Baroque court portraiture as rendered in German goldsmith medallic art. |
